Monty Erben

LAND AGENT

Monty is a Certified Professional Landman with a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston. Monty held a position on the Board of Directors for the San Antonio Restaurant Association in 2008 and has been practicing in his field for 40 years.  His professionalism has earned him the following roles: 

Area Vice President: Monty began his career at Luby’s Cafeterias Incorporated as part of the management. Under his direction, the company had the lowest labor percentage in the market for new locations during his first two years. He drove the company’s success by running profitable operations which gave him the Area Vice President position. He ran the largest and highest volume business unit in the company ($54M with 18 units) and was ranked in the top quarter of AVP’s three out of four years ranking.

Agent: Monty worked with New York Life and became a Gold Member of Annuity Champion for recognition of Sales of Annuities. He earned a LUTCF designation from American College during his stay. 

President: In 2006, Monty formed a limited liability corporation (JM Erben Interests)  with the intent to open and operate a new cafeteria company including the development and implementation of a business plan. The company also offered consulting work for Cheers, Inc. 

Chief Operating Officer: Monty was tapped to become the president and COO for EZ’s Brick Oven Grille (Cheers, Inc.) and has created some remarkable achievements. He was able to develop a regional and in-house marketing plan that resulted in a double-digit increase in sales. He also implemented a new bonus plan which improved operational profits by 12% and management pay by 5%. 

Professional Landman: Englemman Land Services and The Schuenuemann Office have worked with Monty as a professional landman where he has done right-of-way projects, leasing, curative, and title works. Today, he is doing projects for Recoil Resources and continuing his practice in the field.
